Do you want to be that one voice that moves others?
We all want to make a difference, an impact, and know that we matter. We may not all have visions of leading millions to a new frontier but every person needs to matter and needs to be connected in order to live a meaningful and healthy life. Without a connection, we die.
Today we have the illusion of infinite connection as we navigate the web and live within it. We imagine that our words can matter and influence. That we can be greater than who we are in this hero obsessed, celebrity praising world we’ve created. But to what extent is that really true? How many are reading these words and in turn influenced as a result? Some? But it could be few- could be none.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that our words have infinite power, with that infinite web at our fingertips. While, it is true that the pen can be mightier than the sword and we can create entire worlds with the power of our word, this is definitely not every single person’s destiny. There are in fact few who change the world outright.
With that said, there is infinite power in one voice- focused where it can be heard to people who want to hear what you have to say. That power is greatest in our immediate circle – with those who walk next to us through our life.
Throwing our collectively energy into a vast web of perceived influence is likely to enrage us as we realize that we are just flailing in the wind. And so, we just become more and more extreme in our words, our expressions and our thoughts- like children throwing tantrums- demanding to be seen by an invisible crowd.
